Record Proceeds at Have a Heart!!

We are entirely blown away! Support at the Have a Heart Benefit was beyond overwhelming. With the help of amazing guests and generous sponsors, we crushed record proceeds from years past and raised $82,595 at the benefit!

This increased giving was hugely in part thanks to guests’ generosity pledging to send campers to camp. We hoped to raise $10,000 in ten minutes, but raised more than twice that – $20,225!  In the coming year, benefit guests are sending 9 campers to Residential Camp, 18 campers to Day Camp or the Young Adult Retreat, 15 campers to Winter Camp and 67 campers to Family Camp. What a huge difference 340 wonderful supporters can make in one evening!

Thank you for a wonderful evening. Enjoy the Have a Heart Album of moments captured by Judd Sather of Studio J, Inc. and the awesome (and mostly silly) pics from the Mobile Photo Wall. Huge thanks to all who attended, sponsored and supported the Have a Heart Benefit on April 18th!

Heartfelt thanks,
Sara, Matt, Cassie and Alison

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Camp Odayin is grateful for a bit of high profile help spreading our mission this summer. Former Minnesota Timberwolves player and current Iowa State men’s basketball coach, Fred Hoiberg, visited during the Nokasippi session accompanied by a reporter from The Ames Tribune. During the Flambeau session, we were joined by a reporter and photographer from The Brainerd Dispatch. Read both awesome newspaper articles!

Ames Tribune: ‘Hoiberg connects with kids at camp through shared experience with heart disease’

Brainerd Dispatch: ‘Heart disease doesn’t stop teen from staying positive’

Volunteer at Residential Camp!

Are you interested in donating a little of your time to make a big difference this summer? We need exceptional volunteers as Cabin Counselors and Nurses to support and guide our amazing 8 to 17 year old campers at Residential Camp. By the first day of camp, female counselors and nurses must be at least 21 years old and male counselors must be at least 20 years old. Will you consider joining us (and more importantly, some incredible kids)?

Visit our VOLUNTEER PAGE to learn more and apply by May 18th!
