(Required reading prior to Saturday’s staff training)
New Counselors and Nurses – Online Staff Training
For new staff, there are two aspects of staff training. Prior to Thursday, February 15th, you are required to watch the Policies and Procedures video and Power Point below and respond to the post test surveys after viewing. In addition, Tips of the Trade is required viewing, but does not require a post test. Please note that these videos were also used prior to summer camp, so there are a few references to Residential Camp and emergency procedures (at the end of the video) are slightly different. The information is all relevant though and on the morning of February 17th, we’ll make sure you have all the important Winter-specific details.

Saturday – Camp Begins…
Please plan to be in attendance for the staff training on Saturday, February 17th at the Minneapolis Airport Marriott (located near the Mall of America and MSP Airport) at 2020 American Blvd East, Bloomington MN 55425. We have never previously hosted a staff training or camper check in at this hotel.
All nurses and counselors new to Odayin, please plan to arrive at 8:00 a.m. Returning counselors, please join us for training at 9:00 a.m. Camper registration will begin at 11:00, then we will all ride the bus together to Winter Camp in Amery, WI. Cars may be parked at the hotel over the weekend and we will provide you with a lunch for the bus ride.
Training will cover general information, care for our campers, policies and procedures and an opportunity to get to know your cabin leadership team. Come ready to meet, greet and have fun!
Monday – Camp Ends…
The buses will return to the Marriott between 3:30 and 4:00 on Monday, February 19th. As is tradition, we’ll celebrate as a staff with appetizers and drinks at the restaurant onsite at the hotel after camper pick up. Please plan to stick around for a bit if you’re able. We do understand if you have to get back to real life though!
Plan to pack lots of warm clothes for the weekend – we will do our best to spend lots of time outside! (Check the forecast at www.weather.com and enter zip 54001) Please clearly label all items including luggage, bedding and clothing, as Camp Odayin is not responsible for lost items. Thank you!
