Overview

Camp Odayin’s Family Camp takes place in the Fall each year. Camp Odayin hosts two Family Camp experiences in different regions of the Midwest. Families may choose to attend either session, but may only attend one. Both sessions begin on Friday with registration between 4:00 and 5:00 pm and run until noon on Sunday. Family Camp is for families with a child with heart disease, who would benefit from connecting with other families who share similar health, emotional, and social concerns. The actual cost of Family Camp is $250 per person, but the only charge is $25 per person.

Enjoy many of the activities that our campers enjoy and the beauty of Fall in the Midwest. Family Camp gives returning campers a chance to share their experiences at camp and is also a great way to introduce a new camper to Odayin. It’s an opportunity to spend time with your kids, and meet other families whose lives have been affected by heart disease. Our program offers a broad range of activities and some educational opportunities for both parents and campers. Each evening includes a special program designed for the entire family that is sure to create fabulous memories and lots of laughs.

There is no minimum age for children, but parents should realize that they are responsible for the supervision of their own children. Several of our key staff members will be at Family Camp to assist in activities. What does all this fun cost? The Family Camp fee is $25 per person. This fee covers the entire Family Camp session and includes all regular activities and meals. Because we must order food and contract with our staff before Family Camp begins, we cannot pro-rate fees for partial stays. If the $25 per person cost would create hardship or be a barrier to attending, we will gladly waive or reduce the fee. Please contact info@campodayin.org to request a scholarship prior to completing the registration.

Camper registration is available in August, and is due approximately three weeks prior to Family Camp. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. After your family is registered, you will receive packing lists, authorization forms and additional details. Please contact us to request an application.

Financial Support

With the generous support from the Joe Gillis Memorial Fund, we are able to offer transportation scholarships for those living more than 250 miles away. Up to $300 can be reimbursed for your travel costs. We are also able to cover your child’s cost to attend camp if you are unable.
