Parent Time at Family Camp

One of the most highly praised aspects of our fall Family Camp weekends is the parent time session on Saturday afternoon. During this time, heart heroes and siblings are engaged in fun activities with Camp Odayin volunteers and visiting instructors and entertainers. Parents have an opportunity to hear from medical professionals, ask questions, and create connections with parents who have a child with the same (or similar) diagnosis.

We were grateful in October to have been joined at our Family Camp near the Twin Cities by Dr. Juan Samayoa of M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. In November, we were thankful to be joined at our Family Camp near Milwaukee/Chicago by Dr. Frank Zimmerman of Advocate Health Care in Chicago and Dr. Andrew Moore, a psychiatrist in Oconomowoc, WI.

Special thanks to Dr. Samayoa for permission to share his ‘Innovations in Interventional Cardiology’ presentation and to Dr. Zimmerman for permission to share his ‘Gene Therapy’ presentation. Both can be viewed and downloaded below.
